Biblical Leadership Lesson 1: Be an Example
Memory Verse: 1 Timothy 4:12
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Definition of example: a model of behavior, a pattern to follow, a role model
- Consider the Word: Every church needs its men to be something in particular. What is it?
- Consider the Word: In your own words, describe what it mean to be an example?
- Consider the Word: What specific kind of example do we need to be?
- Personalize the Word: Why do we need examples like this in our church?
- Personalize the Word: How is an example of the believers different from other believers?
- Consider the Word: What factor should not prevent a man from being an example?
- Personalize the Word: In what specific way(s) have you benefited from a man as example in your church? In what specific way(s) have you needed an example but found none?
- Personalize the Word: Does your life provide an example to our church that others should imitate? Think of it this way – if every member of our church lived like you, what kind of church would we have? Or, can parents tell their children to be like you?
- Take Action: Will you prayerfully consider making adjustments in your life to provide our church with more examples of godly Christian living?
If every member of our church lived like you, what kind of church would we have? Or, can parents tell their children to be like you?
