A Simple, Portable Bible Study Approach
Every member of your church should consider themselves to be ministers of the gospel and teachers of the Word of God (Eph. 4:12; Heb. 5:12). However, this responsibility may overwhelm them, especially they believe that a seminary education and years of experience are required. Without denying the importance of these things, I believe it is important for every member to understand that basic, obedient, multiplying Bible study is possible from the very start of their relationship with Christ.Armed with a Bible and prepared by prayer, any believer can use the following four questions to study a passage of Scripture in private or with a group - at home, at work, on campus, at a diner or in a public park.1. What do I learn about God?2. What do I learn about myself and people?3. What can I do about this?4. Who can I tell about this? This template is not ALL there is to Bible study; but it is a terrific way to get transformational, obedient, disciple-making Bible study started throughout your church and community.
