3 Resources for Summer Listening with Children

Our family usually takes one long road trip each summer. Between keeping the nausea-prone kids distracted from their stomachs and preserving peace between parties in the backseat, we listen to a lot of audio stories during a day of driving. Of course, the best stories are the ones that don’t just entertain: they build faith in God and keep our focus on Him. If you have a road trip planned or are looking for a way to spiritually encourage your children this summer, here are some wonderful audio resources!

Jonathan Park Audio Adventures

The Jonathan Park Audio Adventures are exciting, action-packed stories for kids that also teach truths about science and the Bible. The series presents scientific evidence for a biblical worldview while addressing wrong evolutionary theories. These stories will help to inspire and equip kids and adults alike to share their faith with confidence!

Lamplighter Theatre

Here is a collection of rich, inspiring stories for the entire family. Our family favorite is Sir Malcolm and the Missing Prince, a powerful tale about humility, service, and responsibility.

Patch the Pirate

If you have never listened to Patch the Pirate, you are missing out on a musical treat! Our kids love the zany characters, fun story plots, and Christ-honoring music that teach important biblical truths. Our family favorites (from the ones we’ve heard so far) are Once upon a Starry Night (Servanthood), Shipwrecked on Pleasure Island (The Pleasures of This World), International Spy Academy (The Importance of the Bible), and Kidnapped on I-Land (Putting Christ First).
